To Nap or Not to Nap

This is a tricky one....all of the irrational behaviors of  my 3 year old are magnified times gazillion when he does not nap. Missing it one day is fine, he's actually quite adaptable.  But when it becomes consecutive nap skips, watch out!  A simple frustration becomes a ridiculous show of screams and drama.  An accidental nudge from his sister is ammunition for attack.  And the lip service...little dude....easy....your sassy mouth will get you nowhere fast.

But, bedtime is a breeze and when he is nap deprived he gets snugly which is my absolute favorite. The days he does nap it's still 2-3 hours long and it definitely delays bedtime. It's a slippery slope. If he's anything like his sister he still has another year of napping left in him. And if he's not, that's cool too because there's a sudden freedom to your days when you no longer plan everything around nap time.
