Ride That Slide

We went to an indoor playground and water park and fun was had by all. Kennedy whipped through the tunnels and slides of the playground like a pro and Easton was on repeat. Every time he got to the bottom of the slide he yelled, "again!". The swimming pool had a slide and splash area that both kids really enjoyed. By the days end, everyone was wiped out from all the activity.

Winter Wedding 1966

Happy 43rd wedding anniversary to my mom and dad! Their love for each other and continued commitment to each other is amazing and inspirational.
Here I am at age 9 wearing my mother's wedding dress. No, I was not a child bride...just a really tall kid.

Blades of Glory

Sean and our neighbor Mike cleared off a skating rink on our pond today. Kennedy wanted out on the ice immediately. She hung on pretty tight to Sean in the beginning, but after about 20 minutes she got it, and she was off!
Getting started...
Undoubtedly there were several spills but each time she got right back up.
Winter Olympics 2022??
Here is a little video clip of her out on the ice. Not the best video footage with the tree branch obstruction, oh well.

Elektra and Daredevil

Sonic Scream- Ability to generate vocal sounds of a higher amplitude than a normal human.

Super Kennedy and Super Easton have been sonic screaming throughout our house in their super-capes. Kennedy has the amazing ability to shoot lightening bolts out of her hands and Easton claims to be able to launch snakes from his. I love the creativity of kids! Sometimes I even join in the fun as Evil Mommy and try to steal their super powers. I am sure there are days when they would both claim that the Evil Mommy act, is not really an act at all.

Powder Play

Today's sunshine made for great sledding and snow play conditions. The kids started in our yard and then ended up hitting a skeleton run with the neighbor kids.
The beginning of Easton's demise. He kept falling, had trouble trudging through the deep drifts and eventually said, "I'm freezing!" and came inside.

Sean and Kennedy built a tunnel and a fort. Kennedy loves being outside and would have played in the snow all day!

Just Another Day at Our House

There are elves living at our house. We're not sure how many but we know they are here. Kennedy has been leaving notes for the elves and when the notes disappear, she flips out with excitement. Tonight I actually spotted an elf, it was just a flash, and then it popped right back into the gingerbread house. Well, if elves are living at our house and sneaking through the greenery, what 4 year old would not deduce that they are also pooping in the greenery?? Right?!? So, on went the magnifying goggles to search for elf poop. Only at this house..... Later in the evening Kennedy said, "I'm getting a little nervous with all these elves in the house."
East had no interest in the elf search but he sure thought he was a cool cat swimming in the tub with the goggles on.

12 Dozen

We made roll-out Christmas cookies today. Not just 1 batch of them but 12 dozen of them. It was an ordeal, fun, but exhausting.
The clean-up crew. Both of the kids fight over who gets to vacuum. I guess I have blessed them with the I enjoy vacuuming gene...or, cursed them with it.

Snow and Hot Cocoa

Easton shoveling with his little kiddie-size shovel.
Apparently that wasn't manly enough, he insisted on using the big shovel.
This morning Kennedy said, "This snow is exactly what I was wishing for, a dream come true!"
Trying to catch some flakes on her tongue.
Of course, snow play must be followed by hot chocolate.
My specialty when Sean is traveling for work is easy dinner. So, hot chocolate was followed by pancakes,or, brinner (breakfast+dinner=brinner).
When they are not irritating each other, they seem to like each other.
