Pele'

Kennedy started soccer this week. It is her first ever attempt at an organized sport - so far so good. She loves having a coach and a team and as any five year old would, loves the snack at the end of practice. Her team name is "Big Red" and they have cute little uniforms (shirts) they are supposed to wear at each game.

Warming up.
Easton is the little spectator that does very little spectating. He loves soccer nights because there are so many other kids running around. He went up to just about every younger (and older) sibling of team members and asked, "don't you want to play with me?"
Goalie! She stopped a goal while playing goalie and was very proud of herself.
She is such a little rule-follower that when the coach says kick the ball on the white line, she does not let it escape the line. Even if it means going at a snails pace. She has a lot of natural athleticism but can be tentative at times. She really wants to do well but processing all the new information (corner kicks, throw-ins, sweeper, stopper, etc.) is a bit overwhelming.

Hanging on....

to summer.

With less than 2 full weeks of summer left I am making a desperate attempt to enjoy things before the routines of fall begin. We have spent many days at the pool and I think these are my first/only pictures of our pool time.

Both kids took swim lessons over the summer. Sensitive subject for me because Easton has had an outright refusal to participate in them. I can't blame it on anything except being 3. I wasn't even going to mention or acknowledge this lack of cooperation on the blog. But, it's my reality and I am trying to document our life happenings. This picture pretty much says it all as he hides behind me the moment swim lessons are to begin. Aside from Easton's resistance to swim lessons, the pool has been a love of both kids.

Charlie

We had dinner at my parents house this afternoon. My dad, brother and Uncle Don just returned from a fishing trip so we had a big walleye and salmon feast - fantastic food! I can hardly believe how big Charlie is. He is almost 3 months old and is the most chill baby I have ever seen. He barely fusses and doesn't seem to be bothered by the ogling adults and cousins that man-handle him. So cute, love him!
