What a lucky, Friday the 13th!

SEVEN

Could it really be 7 years ago today that you showed up? My creative, intelligent, thoughtful, cautious, athletic, stubborn, kind, Brady Bunch-loving girl.  Things you will want to remember when you look back at turning seven:

1) You still have a mass of blonde curls, beautiful hair
2) You've lost 6 teeth with a wiggly one about to go
 3) You love Legos
 4) You are an expert at directing your little brother around, not always effective, but an expert none the less
 5) You have a diary that you write special secret things in and hide between your mattress (I promise I haven't read it)
 6) You LOVE pink
 7) You think anything related to farting or the word fart is hysterical
 8) You're tall
 9) You're fast...last time we raced you beat me by a long shot and I was really really trying (I'm old, but, you're still fast)
 10) You are a great reader. Everywhere we go, you are reading everything around you.
 11) You asked for mashed potatoes for your birthday dinner
 12) You love playing spies and recently saved your money to buy an alarm for your door making it a top secret spy room
 13) You like playing with your American Girl doll, Chelsey
 14) You want to be a Lego artist and work at Lego Land when you grow up

Sweet little girl you have a beautiful heart and have taught me that the depth of love is endless. Happy happy birthday Kennedy Ellen.

Party Like You're Seven

Kennedy's birthday party was last night and it was loads of fun.  In effort to keep things simple and costs down we had it at Chutes and Ladders playground and it turned out to be the perfect venue.  The only time the girls paused from running around was for the cake, ice cream and presents.  I didn't fret about decorations, my house being in chaos, party games or price.  Kennedy was completely in her element with all the climbing, running and chasing with her 10 little girlfriends.  Thanks to everyone there for making it such a special time for my almost seven year old!

T-Ball

This is probably the only time ever that both of my kids fall in to the same age group for an activity.  So, I get an hour of down time every Monday and Wednesday while my little league players hit the field.  Kennedy may be the oldest one playing as the age range is 4-6, but, she doesn't seem to care.  I caught her tying the shoe of a smaller kid on her team the other day, cute mother hen.  Easton throws right and bats left which apparently is a baseball players dream.   They're both having fun and that's all that matters to me.

As soon as they were assigned their golden tees I had flashbacks to my own t-ball days....I could have played on the Golden Thunder Rainbow Fish.

7.4.12

We spent the 4th at the cabin-cottage in WI.  The 100+ degree heat forced us to stay on/in the water almost the entire time we were there.  Plenty of fishing, floating on our gigantic floaty, jumping in to the lake, water Uno, swimming and squirt gunning.  Easton finally jumped off the side of the boat in to the really deep water in the very middle of the lake.  Once he did it, he loved it so much we had to drag him out.  Very proud of my little guy as this was a big fear that he overcame.

Lot's of fun, but, back-to-back trips = exhausted Mom, tons of laundry and off schedule kids.  Now, recovery.  Wait....headed straight in to birthday season...hang on!  It is taking every ounce of me to calm my OCD over-drive and keep things easy.  My new "simplify" philosophy is being tested this week, wait and watch.

Poor Easton, his huge chipmunk cheek is the result of one tiny bug bite on very sensitive skin.
