Renaissance Festival

We went to the Renaissance Festival on Sunday and had so much fun! We met Mike, Alyssa, Grandmachele and Poppy there. It was nice to have the whole family together and such a great birthday present for the kids. Thanks Mike and Alyssa!!

Kennedy was mesmerized the entire time we were there. She met a fairy that gave her some fairy rocks and sprinkled her with fairy dust...
She got her face painted, got a fancy crown and made her own magic wand....

Easton ate a giant pickle, watched a man walk the tight rope and saw a really big turtle walking around. He even rode a llama!! OK, only for about 2 seconds and then he realized he didn't want to be riding a llama. He loved all the animals at the petting zoo. But by far his favorite event was watching people fence. He loved the action of it and sat intently watching and cheering when a balloon popped.

Kennedy had the best seat in the house to view the King and Queen. She even got a gold coin from the King.

Sean had fun throwing ripe tomatoes at a heckler!
We ALL enjoyed the great food!

E-Man

Easton has very particular ideas about his wardrobe. He insisted this was the perfect outfit for the day and reveled in wearing his socks as knee-highs.

I took the kids to the local farmer's market on Thursday afternoon and we left with all sorts of fresh produce. East would not settle for a cut carrot but rather wanted a giant one. The boy is an open pit. I fear for my grocery bill when he hits adolescence.

Easton got this super duper dump truck from Gramma and Papa Raboin. He loves it!

Brit Pics

My friend Brittney shot some pictures of the kids the other morning when we were at the park. She is a natural photographer and was able to capture the kids in some great candid shots. If you are looking for someone to take pics of your kids/family/etc. I would be happy to pass along her contact information, she's great. Thanks again Brit!

Preschool!

Yesterday was the first day of preschool. Everything went smoothly, whew! Kennedy made an easy adjustment to a new school, teacher and classroom. She is a rule-follower so seems to find the structure of a preschool classroom comforting. Besides playing with friends I think her favorite part of the morning was recognizing the class was fully stocked with craft supplies. Another highlight was getting to go outside on the playground during class time.

Kennedy proudly wore her new super sparkly shoes and I fretted each time the paint brush dripped even remotely close to them. Really, they are the shoes of a 4 year old...let it go lady...they will get dirty and the sparkles will inevitably come off.

After school she announced (again) that she wanted to grow her hair out. She has been saying this for some time and I keep sabotaging her plan by trimming her hair. Getting out the door is hard enough now, I can't imagine what it will be like trying to tame her mass of curls on top of things. At the end of our "hair growing" conversation she made me promise to let her grow it out. "Mommy do you promise I can grow my hair out? You have to promise Mommy." So here it is, I am now accountable to my blog readers for following through on this. Hide the scissors, forgive the untamed curls and blond bird's nest on her head... I will be stocking up on product!

Papa's Visit

Our weekend was filled with a fun visit from Papa Raboin. Events included a bike ride, a trip to the Arboretum, a trip to DQ and lots of play.
