Got Pizzicato?

Kennedy and I spent the morning at Orchestra Hall learning all sorts of things about music and instruments. She loved playing the cello and looked like a natural playing the violin. The kids also got to sit on stage with the musicians and listen to a concert.

I myself am not very musically inclined, but, I sure hope my kids are. What a fantastic opportunity for artistic expression and limitless creativity.

Little Man

East has made big progress on the potty front. Since giving up his Paci we have really hyped up the big-boy talk and he seems to be buying it. He will now sit on the potty!! Small step for others but this was a huge step for Easton.


Last night he peed in the potty for the first time!! As much as a boy, sitting down, with a reckless and aimless gun between his legs can pee in the potty....most of it actually hit the floor. Yeah for Easton, we are so proud of you!!


Big sister, Kennedy, was especially proud and added a sticker to his sticker chart. Mind you, the chart is something she created so she periodically gives him stickers when she feels he deserves it. She claims that once the chart is filled he'll get a big surprise. I can only imagine what she's got up her sleeve.

Sweet Baby Boy

Welcome to the world Charles Michael Vance! Baby Charlie was born yesterday, May 10th, on his due date. I took the kids to the hospital this morning to see him and we all instantly fell in love. He is absolutely perfect! I love that new baby smell and the way they crinkle their face up and how they flinch in their sleep. It was so fun to spend some time with Charlie and proud new dad, Mike. Alyssa was getting some much needed rest during our visit. She had an arduous 38 hour labor. Congratulations Mike and Alyssa we are so happy for you and we all adore baby Charlie!
