A Hodgepodge of Holiday Happenings

Both kids are pretty charged about the holidays. On Friday we decorated our house for Christmas and the kids could hardly contain their excitement.

I love snowmen!

Anyone who's anyone knows that Sean is a holiday junkie. He spent 2 days setting up his Christmas village this year. It is a bit overwhelming for me...but hey, it makes him happy. Must be the designer/architect in him that enjoys the detail of it.

Saturday night we had dinner at Applebee's with my parents and Sean got this cute video of Easton talking about Christmas and Santa.

Tonight we decorated a gingerbread house. Kennedy took the job very seriously and wanted every thing to look just so. She has an amazing attention to detail for a 4 year old. Easton took the candy eating very seriously. For every one piece of candy that he put on the house, there were 5 pieces that he put in his mouth. That's my boy!! I don't know who's great idea it was to shake little tiny sprinkles on top of the house (OK, it was mine) but boy was that a disaster. It looked cute, but the shop-vac had to come out during clean up.

The finished product! This is where the elves will live that stay at our house during the month of December. They hide in the greenery and sneek around the decorations to watch for good (or bad) little children. I find it a highly effective parenting tool to threaten the kids with "the elves are watching you and they report back to Santa every night".

  1. The video is priceless! It should be on one of those greeting cards that have a verbal message when you open it. Love it!
